End Of The Battle

We it's the end of the season now, so sad it ended the way it did with the final game only being able to get in one day of cricket. We all knew that we needed maximum points to take the lead, but we didn't achieve that so we will be back in the Upper Intermediate division  next season. To clear the air in the early I wont be leaving  Wanderers, It's home to me so why should I leave? I really enjoyed the fight and passion the boys played with this season, we really gave it our all but, we cant control the weather. On a more personal perspective, i'm disappointed in my overall performance but I know what I need to work on. It's the holidays now an I hope everyone has a great xmas season, See you guys again when the season starts up again next year.
God bless, One love.

The Race To The Top

After this weekends draw against BCL we (Wanderers) have to go for maximum points in these last two games. The BCL game was one of my worst cricket games ever played! Conditions was poor, tall grass, wicket good on day one, piss poor on the last two days, not to mention in my first innings knock which was on day two, I got a ball that kept lower than my ankles which the end result was me getting bowled for 22. The final day turned out that BCL gained first innings points, then they gave us a target of 197 to win in 24 overs. Was a difficult target considering the state of the wicket but we had nothing to loose an all to gain. We put up a good fight with a batsman short, Kirk Edwards who is in Bangladesh with the westindies team, we got 170 for 8 in the 24 overs, I got 40 in 38 balls, but Ian's 38 in 17 almost gave us the win. Was great that Stuart had a good game taking 6 wickets in the match and had scores of 49 and 38. Last two games of the season coming up and we have two teams which are at the bottom of the table so we will have to take advantage of that and look to gain maximum points from them, as we are 5 points away from the leaders. Until then be safe! Time for some breakfast at the cafe! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Dry Season

Been a while since I have spoken to you guys, already half the season has gone an it has been a rough time for me. Series 6 has just been completed and my tally is a weak 130 runs averaging at 21.67, hence my heading as "dry season". I'm not to flustered about that at the moment, I have been training extremely hard and working on some weak areas with my good team mate and pal Kirk Edwards, so i know some heavy runs is around the corner. Our second and latest win against Dover this weekend was great, I made 45* an also hit the winning runs, bringing it home for me team felt like a million bucks! Also did extremely well for my confidence, and not to mention a splendid one hand catch in the gully position, sorry "Fruit" (Jason Holder) wasn't there so I could demonstrate to him how it's done. The boys (Wanderers Team) are looking good and we are second in the standings, only 3 points away from the leaders with 4 games to go. With "Packered" (Martin Nurse) in fine form and me now finding my touch, an our bowlers taking 4's an 5'ers constant, I know we will do well in these last few games to go to the top of the table and look for promotion back in the 1st DIV league. I'm about to rest up now, intense week of training again this week. Be safe and God bless.

Great Start #winning

I'm writing to you now with a big smile on my face. why? We won our first game of the season in the upper intermediate division, which for all of the lads is a new experience. We (WandereresCC) only intend to spend one season down here and will be back up the next season in the 1st division league. Our first game was up against YorhshireCC,we knew they have some big hitters in their batting line up so we were ready for a few wacks about the park.

They won the toss and sent us in to bat. We posted a total of 312 for 3 declared, with our opening batter Martin Nurse making 189. For those who know Martin will know that it was a savage innings. He doesn't do to much running. My contribution was a mere 9...I will say I got the best ball of the day from the side which didn't had a sight screen. We bowled them out at the end of day two for 210,which gave us a lead of 102. In our team meeting we planned to only bat for about 15 overs and to score about 100 to 90 runs and send them back in. We made 96 losing 6 wickets in 12.3 overs,we agreed that was a good enough total to defend.

Indeed it was, we bowled them out for 102 in 35 overs. Clinical job. Off-spinner Gary Belle did a great job take 4 scalps. But to me, what really boost us up for the win was Sean "cool" Armstrong slip catches!...they were late, and low at pace!...Brilliant set of hands he has there. Don't think you can buy them at any hardware store.

Well next game we will be heading up north to play Alexandra school. So until then take care and god bless. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

This week training sessions 12th,13th,14th of april 2011

Well the weather was a bit bad from the start of the week, was rain rain and more rain...when Tuesday came the first day for weekly training the rain poured in the early morning period, seems I was only getting in some inside gym work but thanks to head coach Ricky Clarke who had took a trip to Wanderers to make an assessment, his reports back to us was that the outfield was in good condition for fitness and also fielding drills.Fine with me!...wicket was to soft for any net practice. The lads came out with great intentions and we had a great intense session Tuesday evening!...guys looked extra sharp!

Wednesday slightly overcast but with little rain fall, wicket wa prepared but it was a slow track,my knock in the nets was about 60% to my standard, as I do mark myself hard even when I'm training, but I enjoyed the training session with coach Mike, Martin Nurse and myself were going at a drill to see who can hit the stumps the most!...I think I have the better arm!...at the end I did some laps and pushing myself to best my last recorded time!...another brilliant session!

It was Thursday, the last day of training for the week, the sun had been hot the entire day so I knew it would of been a good afternoon for training. We had a good turn out from the boys as was expected. We lime every Thursday at the club house after practice soI guess that's why we get a good turn out on Thursdays!..lol. The wicket was better this time around so I enjoyed my knock. After, I joined coach Evans who has been a great assistant to our head coach Ricky Clarke, in a fielding session. The intensity is always high!...an improvements are showing within the players.

It was a good week, and I will look forward to weekend relaxing with friends and close ones. So until next time, be positive in everything you do! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Pre-Season tournament

Well it's me again, one thing I must say, when you put in hard work, the rewards will show! County clubs Yorkshire,Hampshire,Warwrickshire,Derbyshire, and Essex will be in Barbados for a pre-season training programme playing in a tournament this week. Barbados also have a team included in the tournament. Pro 40,two day,and T20 games are the formats being played...Barbados will be only involved only in the T20 series...which I'm a part of that squad. Not to mention I'm also involved with the Yorkshire team for the other formats. Must say special thanks to my WanderersCC coach Rick Clarke for the involvement with Yorkshire. Will be looking to showcase some great performances for both teams as i look to take my career skywards.Well, I'm prepared and ready,16,17,23 are my Yorkshire dates and 19 with Barbados XI. Thanks to everyone who wished me good luck and congrats!...I will do my best! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. 2011 season goals

One thing that is on my mind from the time I started training this year were my goals for the 2011 cricket season. One of my goals is to score 1000 runs and maintain and average over 40. But that's not my biggest goal, my biggest goal this upcoming season is to score a hundred at my home club!...I have some memberable innings there at Wanderers but I haven't raised my bat for a ton. So this year I'm going to break that ton less run at Wanderers! Also i scored one hundred last season, I will be going for at least 3 this year. Setting my goals high. I know once I put in the adequate work, the results I'm looking for will come. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Back to work

Been a while since we have communicated guys!...but never mind I'm still here. Last couple weeks i was more on the relaxed side, alot of downtime, well I think that was enough of that for me, hate to be not training to be honest. So from this evening I will be hitting the training field at Wanderers this evening. Got my guy Martin Nurse tagging along to put in some work aswell. For him to be there is showing good signs for the club this season, despite we were relegated to the upper intermediate devision. Well, we will see what happens at the start of the season, things tend to change around that time. Well guys that's it for now until sometime next week, still hoping to get a call up for the Barbados first class team so i will be keeping my work ethic high!...plus we are in the 7th posting out of 8 teams after the 4th round!...could of best expose other younger players since that was the plan at the start. Winning the cup looks out of reach at this moment. Well I will leave this good piece of advice with you today..."have a café mocha"..lol you'll have a better day. Keep good guys and remember put god first! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Interesting Week

I must say it was a great week, lots of sad faces, laughter and smiles!....I will start it of from Wednesday afternoon at Kensington Oval. I had national training with the Barbados team which had just came back from Trinidad, when i came through the gates of the white elephant i saw "bobski" (Tino Best) leaving!!.....Me personally i don't question certain things, so i just geared up and joined the fielding drills which Vassie was operating. I was all ears while i was going through my drills, and i over heard he was sent home for be disrespectful to some of the managing staff, honestly it was only a matter of time someone took drastic measures pertaining to his attitude. We all knew that he would of been dropped for the game on Friday against England Lions, which would of given "Cassie" (Fidel Edwards) the call up! Groups where divided, some went and hit some balls in the nets and the others did more fielding drills,i was with the fielding group,we was having a great session until the rain came down an ended the session early. I decided to take advantage of the gym and did some cycling for about 20 mins then i called it a day. We were scheduled to train at 9:30am the Thursday morning.

On arrival the morning i was wondering if Bobski would attend the session, he did, but 1hr and 30mins late, he apologized for his behavior and joined in with the session. Kirk, Kraig, an I had a very intense fielding session with coach Dexter, after that i had a few with the ball machine then i had a go on the turf wicket with the bowlers going at it. Great morning!...I had a good work out!...not to mention the warm up session with the trainer. I had called up my club coach Ricky Clarke an asked him if it was possible to do some extra training in the afternoon at the club "WanderersCC", it was a go. I got something to eat around midday then relaxed until 4pm which was the time we arranged to meet up to start the afternoon session. We did some stretching and then went into some catching drills. My bloody hands were sore!...It was intense but i enjoyed it, i'm weak taking catches to my left so more emphasis was focused there. I felt a little improvement at the end of the drill. We took a 5 min break then went to do some drop ball TD's (throw downs), but the rain had other plans,so that was ended after about 5mins. We had a few to drink after and talked cricket till we decided to head to our final destinations.

Friday!..was the start of the game against england lions, i was following the game via my twitter for the entire day..Kirk Edwards was 124 not out over night, i knew i had to be there on the second day to watch him continue.

It was Saturday, i took my seat and enjoyed some good cricket, Kirk was dismissed for  171, it was a great innings, captain Ryan hinds got his hundred aswel, Barbados posted a total of 471, it was a great day of cricket, also for pudding n souse which my good mate Gary Belle had brought for me at the game, and i must mention the great company of WanderersCC biggest fan and my long term friend Melissa King.

Well it was a good week, i wont say to much about today, due to the fact i was home all day relaxing. The only interesting thing about today was Capone attacking a goat which belonged to a resident in the area, lucky for me he brought back Capone home to me in one piece!...i know any other person would of sent him to doggy heaven. Well thats it for me for this week, until next week stay safe guys!

My Weekend

Well what can i say??....it was a great one for me indeed. Lets start with Friday. first of all i was hella hungry by the time 6pm, so i decided to head down to Ruby Nazarene carpark where they have a food selling. If you follow my twitter (@jasongreene87)...you would know i wasn't having any chicken due to a road kill in the morning time, so i had me some dolphin! The misses was with me at this time, she had no water at her house so she decided to come up by me to take a shower, and we decided along with her sister to go watch a movie at the Olympus Theaters. "Hush 3" was the movie we selected an i must say it was a good film!...Produced by Barbadians. It was great to see we have some talent in the movie industry. We all went home after that and called it a night.

Saturday i was awake a bit to early for my likens by my dads gf,she wanted a drop to the bus stop, which i did, then came back home to finish sleep, I finally got back up around 9am knowing i had to vacuum and wash the car and also give Capone (my dog)  a shower,i decided to take care of the car first then Capone. Capone was up for a bit of games when i was giving him his bath, he decided to run of in the wild grass when i was soaping him up, which made me so annoyed!!..but he came back about 10 mins later and was all cleaned up and feed after!...My next move was to meet Ian Bradshaw for some pudding & souse his wife had prepared and meet up with a couple of friends. The souse was amazing!...I took care of some business an also meet my good friend Malissa in Sheraton Mall to fix up her BB, then i was off to my good mates Ejay house to chill out!...His 6mth old son Ethan is always fun to be around with and not to mention I always have a few drinks when i go there...I also watched the Manchester United vs Wolverhampton game which MANUTD lost 2-1!!..I was very upset!! So i had a bit more to drink!!.... We took a drive down to Oistins fishing area  for some food. I had gotten myself some red snapper with salad which was grilled and tasted great!...I will surely take a trip there next weekend!..We got back to his (Ejay) place and i stayed there for another 30mins or so then it was home time for me. The misses was out doing her own thing by getting her nails and toes done plus a new hair did. We decided to go for a drive to get something to eat around 9pm,we ended up at kfc hastins, although the thought of Lucky Horse Shoe Restaurant was on her mind. We both had hottwings!..we have a special liking for hot wings, guess thats why she my fiancĂ©...After our eats we decided to head back to my place. the rest is rated R!

Sunday was a more laid back day, I woke up at 11am,which eliminated my chances of going to church with my mum ,I stayed in bed till about 12pm then i got up cause i was hungry!...The Sunday food was already prepared an i had my share...I played my ps3 from about 1pm till 3:30pm..Then i decided to do some washing. i had gotten "BlackSwan" the movie yesterday from Ejay, so me and  the misses decided that she would come up by me so we both would watch it....and we both did....great drama but mind twisting!..i wont say nothing on it cause i cant help you either if you dont understand it aswel. Well its 9pm now and i think that sums up my weekend. Until next time keep safe guys!!

Barbados Training At The Oval

today was a good day as like every when i have to train, what was even more interesting i used my new kit today in the nets...graynicolls oblivion...they fit very nice and neat just the way i like it. i had about 3 to 4 buckets of balls to hit with the ball machine, but of course by half way tru the 3 set i was knackerd!!..after that i had a go at the target throwing, spent about 20 mins or that then it was up in the gym for some work...made great use of the "Qbex"...cycle machine for 10 mins at level ten!!!...then that was a wrap for me!...tomorrow will be the same routine but i will do some weights to add to it. well untill tomorrow take care and be safe!
